Here's an example for Science from Day 1:
Activity: What does it mean when something sinks? If you have a container that can be used asa sensory table,fill that with water. If not,get a plastic bin you can changeouteach month with something different for your child to explore. If you don’t have a bin yet, fill your kitchensink with water and let your child play in the water. Ask them if they think an object will sink and then test it out. Examples of objectsto try:cup, bowl, fork, wooden spoon, etc.
Learning Objective: Explain to your child what “sinking” means. Show your child while in the bathtub or using a full sink of water. Explain how we can predict if something will sink or not.
There are 20 days of activities, enough to cover most of the school days in September and allow a couple days for field trips or play dates. Each day has 3 hands-on activities that your child will love plus learning objectives so you know what your child is supposed to be learning from this activity.
Doing preschool at home with your child is a great way to build a strong relationship with your preschooler while getting them ready for success in kindergarten.
